A Singular Journey  ::  West Bloomfield High School 1975

The First Four-Year Class | 1972 – 1975

We [Class of ’75] were the first – pioneers of a brand-new West Bloomfield High School.  A full four-year stretch in the new WB High School – dedicated in 1971.  We have that honor [what ever it’s worth] – never to be repeated.  It was a rare honor – and very cool when one deliberates on it.

Ours was a journey through a time of rapid growth and quiet discovery in the still-young township of West Bloomfield – one that included Keego Harbor, parts of Sylvan Lake, and endless pockets of untouched woods and wetlands. There were few pressures, filled with a plethora of many unique moments.  Experiences and Relationships that would | will | have last[ed] far beyond those long halls of time.

Those early years can’t – and won’t – ever be duplicated.  There was a purity to student life then, a kind of open space – both literal + emotional + spiritually – that shaped us in ways only we can truly understand.  The WB development boom followed behind us.  We were there before … and luckily there to lay the ground-work of WB Greatness that was to come.

Looking back now, many of us, from what I’m told, feel more connected now than we ever did then.  Time has pulled us closer.  Friendships have grown deeper.  It’s a living testament to the unique and unforgettable era we shared there in our youth.

Our journey wasn’t just academic – it was geographic, personal, and entirely our own.
